Governor of Russia's Bryansk Oblast Alexander Bogomaz said on Thursday that Ukrainian forces fired on the village of Klimovo.

"As a result of the shelling, two residential buildings were damaged, and there are victims among the residents. Relevant services, the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working on the spot," Bogomaz added.

The Investigative Committee of Russia later said in a statement that Ukrainian forces carried out at least six air strikes on residential buildings, injuring seven people, including a child.

The village of Spodaryushino in Russia's Belgorod Oblast was also shelled by Ukraine on the same day, but here were no casualties among the civilian population, local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

There is currently no response from the Ukrainian side.
