The Russian Navy's Black Sea flagship, the Moskva missile cruiser, has begun to sink after an explosion of ammunition, Ukrinform news agency reported on Thursday. The report cited Operation Command South, a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in southern Ukraine.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry had stated that the Moskva cruiser was not sinking, but remained "buoyant."
