Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday said he had a phone call with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and discussed issues including the negotiation process with Russia.

Negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian delegations have been going on for over a month, through online and offline formats.

Early this week, Russia President Vladimir Putin said peace talks with Ukraine had hit a dead end as Kyiv had derailed peace talks by staging what he said were fake claims of Russian war crimes and by demanding security guarantees to cover the whole of Ukraine.
