The Chinese mainland recorded 2,742 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, with 2,723 linked to local transmissions and 19 from overseas, according to data from the National Health Commission on Monday.

A total of 20,718 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded on Sunday, and 282,764 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 185,035, with the death toll at 4,641.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 309,447 (66,877 recoveries, 9,139 deaths)

Macao: 82 (82 recoveries)

Taiwan: 34,507 (13,742 recoveries, 854 deaths)
