Twenty people were killed and one person was injured in a road accident on Tuesday in Nigeria's northeastern state of Bauchi, traffic police said.

The accident, which involved a commercial bus and a Sharan Volkswagen vehicle, occurred at Huturu Village on the Bauchi-Kano road, Yusuf Abdullahi, a sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Bauchi, said at a press briefing.
