Israel would close the Erez Crossing between the northern end of the Gaza Strip and Israel on Sunday in response to the rocket attacks, which followed days of clashes between Israeli police and Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem.

The re-opening of the crossing will be decided in accordance with a situational security assessment, according to Israel's military liaison to the Palestinians.
