The Chinese mainland recorded 1,580 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, with 1,566 linked to local transmissions and 14 from overseas, according to data from the National Health Commission on Sunday.

A total of 20,285 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded on Saturday, and 249,212 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 200,654 with the death toll at 4,725.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 328,074 (68,888 recoveries, 9,236 deaths)

Macao: 82 (82 recoveries)

Taiwan: 51,298 (13,742 recoveries, 856 deaths)
