The United States announced further military assistance and a renewed diplomatic support for Ukraine as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Kyiv.
The two top U.S. officials told Ukraine's President Volodomyr Zelenskyy that the U.S. would provide more than $300 million in foreign military financing and had approved a $165 million sale of ammunition, according to AP.
American diplomats who left Ukraine before the war would start returning to the country this coming week, Blinken added.
He also told Ukrainians that U.S. President Joe Biden will name Bridget Brink, who is serving as the U.S. ambassador to Slovakia, as ambassador to Ukraine.
