Chinese delivery companies tighten international COVID-19 control measures
01:04

China's delivery companies are stepping up COVID-19 control management of international mail and handlers to stem the spread of the virus from overseas. Postal authorities have ordered mail processing sites to keep their surveillance video of international mail disinfection for 30 days, and deliverymen must observe COVID-19 regulations to prevent cluster infections. At a logistics company in Shiyan City of central China's Hubei Province, deliverymen disinfected parcels from abroad on their arrival. The mail processing center under closed-loop management will keep records of the disinfection process and conduct regular nucleic acid testing of employees. China's express delivery sector handled 24.23 billion parcels in the first three months of 2022, rising by 10.5 percent from a year earlier, data from the State Post Bureau shows.
