Beijing municipal holds a press conference on the latest COVID-19 situation and containment measures. Officials from Beijing Municipality Health Commission and the municipal government brief the media and answer questions. Beijing has seen 194 confirmed cases in 12 districts since last Friday. To curb the latest outbreak, the city has arranged mass screening in areas that are potentially at risk, conducting three rounds of nucleic acid tests within five days. 

Concerning the Labor Day Holiday, a national holiday in China coming up on May 1, officials advise residents in Beijing to cancel non-essential outbound trips, caution that travel can increase chances of spreading the virus. Primary and secondary schools and kindergartens will also start the holiday break from Friday, which is one day earlier than the public calendar, according to the officials on Thursday's press conference.
