The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has announced it will take "immediate steps" to end the Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.

"The OSCE will initiate immediately operational, administrative and financial steps to close the Mission as responsibly and cost-effectively as possible, with the safety and security of mission members throughout Ukraine remaining a priority," OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid said.
