This is the towering serac forest on Rongbuk glacier in the east of Qomolangma at an altitude of 5,800 meters. The spectacular ice towers are conical, cylindrical and even like pyramids. The forest is a glacial wonder carved by nature. It is mainly formed in high-altitude low-latitude areas. In recent years, there has been an obvious decline of the ice tower forest in the Qomolangma area. That's why it is vital to strengthen the comprehensive scientific investigation of Rongbuk glacier.
