Bao Yongqing was the first Chinese photographer to be named Wildlife Photographer of the Year. In 2019, he won the world's most prestigious award for nature photography. "The Moment", his entry, depicts an intense standoff between a Tibetan fox and a Himalayan marmot, two mammals that are widespread in the Sanjiangyuan area. Many herdsmen on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau have followed Bao’s footsteps in taking up wildlife photography.
