Shanghai's group-buying coordinators seen as 'neighborhood heroes'
03:05

In Shanghai, group-buying coordinators have become some of the city's most crucial workers. Many residents have spent over a month indoors, as the city fights its worst COVID-19 outbreak yet. And many of them have come to rely on volunteers who organize bulk-purchases of supplies for each closed-off community. Huang Yue talks to one of them.

Shanghai can be quite rainy in April. But that hasn't stopped these volunteers from offloading goods in the downpour. Leading the team is 37-year-old Wen Xiaodong. He said he never expected to be a group-buying organizer.
