01:54

On May 1, hundreds of thousands of Cubans from all walks of life took part in a large march and rally in Havana's Plaza de la Revolucion to celebrate International Labor Day, the first May Day march and rally to be resumed after the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic in Cuba. Speaking at the Revolution Square, General Secretary of The Workers Central Union of Cuba Ulises Guilarte said that the long-standing U.S. embargo against Cuba is the main obstacle to Cuba's current development and that the U.S. is trying to create divisions in Cuba by imposing sanctions, and that the march and rally reflect the Cuban people's confidence in and commitment to socialist construction.
