U.S. Embassy diplomats have returned to Ukraine's western city of Lviv to continue work in the country, U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Charge d'Affaires Kristina Kvien said on Monday.

The embassy hopes to return to its original home in the capital Kyiv by the end of May if conditions permit, Kvien said at a press briefing.

The U.S. decided to close its embassy in Kyiv on February 14 and temporarily relocated a small number of remaining diplomatic personnel in the country to Lviv.
