Fiji’s High Court Tuesday granted an application to seize Russian superyacht Amadea berthed at the Lautoka wharf. 

The yacht was owned by Russian billionaire Suleiman Kherimov, who's under the sanctions of the U.S. and the EU against Russia .

Amadea has been detained by local police since it arrived in Fiji 21 days ago.

Local media reported that lawyers for Amadea said they would seek an interim stay to stop the vessel from being towed away.
