ICRC says thousands of civilians trapped in hostile areas in Ukraine

The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Peter Maurer, said on Tuesday that thousands of civilians remain trapped in Ukraine in places affected by the hostilities and are in desperate need of assistance and safe passage.
He added that the ICRC would continue to work with all sides to facilitate future operations.
