French President Emmanuel Macron held a two-hour telephone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
Putin told Macron about the "liberation" of Mariupol and the evacuation of civilians from the Azovstal plant in agreement with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the Kremlin said in a statement.
Putin said that despite Kyiv's unpreparedness for serious work, the Russian side is still open to dialogue, according to the statement.
Both sides agreed to continue contacts at various levels.
