Unit six of the Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant in China's Liaoning Province successfully connected to the grid on May 2, allowing it to enter commercial operation by the end of this year. It is the first nuclear power plant and the largest energy investment project in northeastern China. Hongyanhe has already generated 194.4 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity, equal to a reduction of 59.11 million tonnes of standard coal consumption.
