The China-Laos Railway started operation on December 3, 2021. This landmark project empowering Belt and Road cooperation has since posted remarkable growth in terms of both passenger and cargo transportation. It is the first overseas railway jointly constructed and operated by the two countries, adopting Chinese standards, and directly linking to China's railway network.
