Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Japan will use nuclear reactors to reduce its dependence on Russian energy in an address at the Guildhall in London ahead of his meeting with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Kishida said 150 trillion yen ($1.16 trillion) will be raised in the next decade to meet Japan's energy needs.
His remarks came one day after European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen set out a plan that would see the EU phase out Russian oil imports by the end of the year if adopted.
