A group of cadet pilots recently completed their first independent carrier-borne J-15 fighter jet flight in China. They performed different flight maneuvers as part of the training, including simulating landing on an aircraft carrier. Flying a carrier-borne fighter jet is highly demanding, as the aircraft carrier flight deck is said to be the "most dangerous 4.5 acres in the world." On November 23, 2012, China's first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, saw its first successful fighter jet takeoff and landing, marking a milestone for the People's Liberation Army Navy.
