In spring, thousands of seabirds return to the Liaodong Bay in northern China from the south. The "bird waves" have become a special sight here. Following the strenuous voyage, seabirds are ready to dig in and satiate their appetite, biding farewell to the bleak winter.

About 'Journeys in Nature': Fauna in Liaodong Bay Series

With a coastline that stretches over 1,200 kilometers, Liaodong Bay is the northernmost bay in China. It is covered in thick ice throughout winter to early spring, but remains full of life. This series explores the animal species and their unique ways of surviving in the bay.
