A magnitude-4.9 earthquake followed by another magnitude-6.2 hit Taiwan region's Hualien County on Monday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The first quake struck at 2:23 p.m. on Monday at a depth of 16 kilometers and the second struck at 3:45 p.m. on Monday at a depth of 15 kilometers, said the CENC.
There are no immediate reports of damages and casualties.
