The official death toll from a powerful explosion last Friday at a hotel in Cuba's capital has climbed to 40, as more bodies were pulled from the rubble.
Dr. Julio Guerra, chief of hospital services at the Ministry of Health, said at a news conference that 18 people remain hospitalized.
