Flowers of mock strawberry bloom from April to June and its fruits emerge in summer. The fruits look like strawberries. They are red, round and have seeds on a bumpy surface. The fruits are edible but don't have much taste.

The Japanese False Bindweed has edible value. Its rhizome is rich in starch, which can be eaten or made into wine and sugar. The above-ground part can be used as fodder for pigs, sheep, rabbits and other animals.

Hemistepta lyrata (Bunge) Bunge is tough and can survive in harsh environments. As a wild plant, it is not poisonous at all. On the contrary, it has medical values. The plant is an annual herb, which means it can only live for a year.
