A mega railway bridge of the under-construction Guangzhou-Shanwei high-speed railway was connected after a 65-minute rotation of the two parts in south China's Guangdong Province. To reduce the impact of bridge construction on traffic security, the project used a pier-top rotation for connection, which is rare in domestic bridge building. The Guangzhou-Shanwei railway, with a total length of about 206 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, is a major part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's high-speed transportation network.
