Russia on Tuesday slammed an upcoming UN Human Rights Council (UNHCR) special session on Ukraine, scheduled for Thursday, as "another anti-Russian approach of the collective West.”
In a statement posted on the Russian Foreign Ministry website, spokesperson Maria Zakharova called the agenda of the session “politicized and confrontational” and said all Russian arguments on its “special military operation” and the situation on the ground in Ukraine have been completely ignored.
“That is why the Russian delegation will not, by its presence, legitimize another biased political show in the form of a planned special session,” she said.
Russia was suspended from the UNHCR in April after a vote in the UN General Assembly.
