Shanghai resumes factory work, deliveries amid virus

The government of Shanghai said they are helping key manufacturers and delivery services get back to work. More than a million orders for deliveries are coming in every day in the city, though one government official said that this number is one-sixth of what it was before the lockdown. The suspension of delivery services has left locked-down residents in need of food, medicine and other daily necessities, and has prompted complaints.

Residents of Shanghai have had to undergo multiple rounds of self-testing using antigen test kits, as well as nucleic acid tests, which has further generated a large demand for kits themselves. Shanghai-based self-testing antigen kit producer Outdo Biotech has the capacity to provide 3 million kits to Shanghai every day.
