The Chinese Foreign Ministry pledged China's full support and assistance to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on May 12 in its fight against COVID-19, after KCNA reported the DPRK's first confirmed infection. DPRK leader Kim Jong Un urged the public to implement "maximum emergency" prevention measures to "eliminate the root within the shortest period of time."
