Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on the G7 to seize and hand over Russian assets to help rebuild Ukraine during their meeting in Germany on Friday.
"Today, I asked G7 countries to adopt legislation and put in place all necessary procedures needed to seize Russian sovereign assets and give them to Ukraine to use this money to rebuild our country," Kuleba said.
The senior Ukrainian minister also stated that any omission of an embargo on Russian oil in the EU's next sanctions package would spell the end of the bloc's unity, calling it a "critical moment."
"If this package is adopted without (an) oil embargo, I believe (Russia's) President Putin can celebrate because it will be the first case when the unity of the European Union will be broken because of the position of one country - Hungary," he mentioned.
