China's largest LNG storage tank finishes dome lifting operation
00:57

The air-jack dome lifting operation of China's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank was completed on May 17 in east China's Qingdao City. The Sinopec Qingdao LNG receiving terminal is independently developed by Chinese research teams, and is as high as a 20-story building. The gas lift operation is to slowly lift the dome from the bottom of the tank to a predetermined position at the top, driven by the pressure difference between enclosed space and external surroundings. It is one of the most difficult, complicated, and risky engineering nodes in installing and constructing LNG storage tanks.
