Local residents of Buffalo, New York, have blamed racism and politicians preaching "white supremacist" notions for the recent shooting.

"And then also, thinking about me as an African American woman, and having African American children, you know how this impacts us, you know making us feel less safe," said Brandy Loveland, one of the local residents of Buffalo.
