The European Commission will unveil a 210-billion-euro plan on Wednesday that will detail how Europe can "end its reliance on Russian fossil fuels" by 2027, thus pivoting from Moscow toward green energy, Reuters has reported.

Russia currently supplies 40 percent of the bloc's gas and 27 percent of its imported oil, and EU countries are struggling to agree on sanctioning the latter.
