Live updates: Moscow says ready to return to negotiation with Ukraine

- Russia's economy is withstanding sanctions, despite all the difficulties, Russian President Vladimir Putin said while meeting Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Sochi on Monday.

- Lukashenko said the decision to slap sanctions on Russia and Belarus hits Western countries themselves. He expressed concerns that the West is "taking steps to dismember Ukraine."

- Moscow is ready to return to the negotiating table with the constructive position of Kyiv, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said.

- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the World Economic Forum in Davos on Monday via video link. He said that there should be no trade with Russia and the world needs to set a precedent.

- Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, voted to extend martial law for 90 days until August 23.

- Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported the "complete liberation" of the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol and the city as a whole to President Putin. There was no immediate confirmation from Ukraine.

- Russia's foreign ministry on Saturday permanently banned 963 U.S. citizens from entering Russia. The list includes U.S. President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
