Shanghai registered 96 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 759 asymptomatic infections on Tuesday, local authorities said on Wednesday morning.

All the new cases were found among people already under quarantine or medical observation.

Three new deaths related to COVID-19 were also recorded during the 24-hour period, the authorities said, citing underlying medical conditions as the direct cause of deaths.
