April: UK inflation jumps to 40-year high of 9%

The UK's inflation hit a 40-year high of 9 percent in April, the Office for National Statistics showed on Wednesday.
Consumer prices in April were 9 percent higher than a year earlier, a jump from 7 percent in March and the highest inflation rate since March 1982, said the office.
