A magnitude-7.3 earthquake jolted the Macquarie Island region on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
With a depth of 29.3 kilometers, the epicenter was initially determined to be at 53.838 degrees south latitude and 158.875 degrees east longitude.
