China has urged Japan to face up the international and domestic concerns regarding the safety of releasing nuclear-contaminated waste water into the sea after Japan's nuclear regulator gave an initial greenlight to the plan, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said on Thursday.
