Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday said that the number of cyber attacks on Russia by foreign "state structures" had increased and Moscow would need to bolster its cyber defences.
"Purposeful attempts are being made to disable the Internet resources of Russia's critical information infrastructure", Putin said while virtually addressing a meeting of the country's Security Council on Friday. "But cyber aggression against Russia has failed: we were ready for attacks."
The Russian president proposed the creation of state information security system and other means limiting foreign software and hardware systems.
