Philippines detects new COVID-19 subvariant Omicron BA.4

The Department of Health of the Philippines announced on Saturday it had detected a case of COVID-19 subvariant Omicron BA.4 in the country.
According to the health department, the case involved a Filipino citizen who flew in from the Middle East on May 4, and his test on May 8 came out positive for the subvariant.
