A storm ravaged India's eastern state of Bihar on Thursday, killing at least 33 people, local media reported on Saturday citing the state's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Several houses in as many as 16 districts of the state, mainly the Katihar district, were severely damaged.

The state's chief minister has announced that financial aid of 400,000 rupees ($5,140) will be provided to relatives of the deceased.
