Chinese and Russian air forces on Tuesday conducted a joint strategic patrol, the Chinese Defense Ministry announced.

The joint patrol was over the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea and the Western Pacific Ocean, the ministry said in a statement.

It added the routine patrol was carried out in accordance with the annual cooperation plans of the two militaries.
