The death toll from a building collapse in southern Iran on Monday has risen to 16, with 37 injured people taken to hospital, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported on Wednesday, citing the deputy governor of Khuzestan province Ehsan Abbaspour.

Dozens of people were feared trapped under rubble after a 10-story building still in construction collapsed on Monday on a busy street in the southern Iranian city of Abadan.
