Three paramilitary members killed in IS attacks in Iraq: report
Three members of the Iraqi paramilitary group Hashd Shaabi were killed in two attacks by Islamic State (IS) militants in the eastern province of Diyala, Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday, citing a police source.
Late Tuesday night, IS fighters attacked Hashd Shaabi positions in the Himren mountain range in the north of Diyala province, killing one Hashd Shaabi member. Another clash early on Wednesday in the Mansouriyah area northeast of the provincial capital Baquba killed two paramilitary members and wounded one, Major Alaa al-Saadi from the provincial police said.
He said that Iraqi security forces have intensified security measures and dispatched reinforcement troops in anticipation of further attacks.
