Shanghai will allow students in junior and senior year in high school to return to campus from June 6, Yang Zhenfeng, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission said on Thursday at a press conference.
Middle school students in their final year are also allowed to go back to school from June 13. The resumption of school is not mandatory, Yang said. And students can choose to stay home and take the online classes as well if they want.
To maximize the health and safety of students, districts and schools will arrange special vehicles for students who have difficulty in commuting to school to ensure their safety, Yang said.
Gaokao, the national college entrance examination in Shanghai has been postponed to July 7-9 , while Zhongkao, the national senior high school examination has postponed to June 18-19.
