At least 50 people were killed on Wednesday in an attack by unidentified armed men in the Madjoari district in Burkina Faso's East Region, Governor Hubert Yameogo said in a statement on Thursday.

On May 14, an attack on civilians in the same area left 17 dead and 7 injured, and on May 19, another attack against the military detachment in Madjoari left 11 soldiers dead and 20 others injured.
