Nostalgia has swept through Chinese social media in recent days, after a performance by singer Cyndi Wang. The 39-year-old sang one of her hits from the early 2000s for an episode of Chinese talent show "Sisters Who Make Waves". Her popularity, however, has come with little surprise, as a throwback trend has swept across Chinese social media. Over the weekend, re-screenings of two concerts by singer Jay Chou garnered nearly 100 million views and, last month, rock legend Cui Jian held an online concert, attracting nearly 45 million views.
