Residents of the Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv are facing a water shortage as the conflict with Russia has cut a vital pipeline. At the same time, the nearby natural source does not meet potable water standards. Water trucks have become the only source of drinking water for many. Residents, including the elderly, are being forced to travel long distances on foot or bicycles to fetch drinking water.
